Match Ratings - Dundee 1 - 1 Rangers

I felt there was only one winner at 1-1 and we finished the first half strongly. Second half was so insipid it borders on bizarre.

ALLAN MCGREGOR - 7 (MOTM)

Only player contributing consistently.

JAMES TAVERNIER - 5

So one dimensional it hurts at the moment, can’t carry on just aimlessly firing balls into no one in the box.

JOE WORRALL - 4

He’s not as bad as is being made out but he had a shocker here. Truly inept performance, we need to agree on two centre halves and stick to it.

CONOR GOLDSON - 5

Poor performance again, didn’t deal well enough with Millers threat for the opener. Clear your lines first and foremost.

ANDY HALLIDAY - 7

Terrific free kick got us back level with the man advantage. Moved into midfield when Barisic came on and at least offered more than others before being subbed in 70 minutes.

RYAN JACK - 5

See my previous comments, not required in this game and not doing enough.

JORDAN ROSSITER - 4

Passing was all over the shop in the first half but at least he was trying to snap into tackles and get us up the pitch.

RYAN KENT - 5

I was excited to see him playing centrally and he had flashes in there including a couple of driving runs. Shame he was taking off as a precaution, as this change had knock on effects into the second half. Set up Lafferty’s onside offside goal.

DANIEL CANDEIAS - 4

See my comments on Tavernier.

KYLE LAFFERTY - 4

Another poor showing and his early season form looks a long way away. Not got enough about him to lead the line. Unlucky to have his onside goal flagged off. Key moment in the game.

EROS GREZDA - 5

I thought he was a threat out wide in the first half, but looked totally lost in the second after being moved further infield.

BORNA BARISIC - 4

Good to see the big Croatian make his comeback and he offered what we know he can. Unfortunately his crossing along with everything else’s wasn’t up to scratch and it all got a bit frantic.

OVIE EJARIA - 2

Terrible cameo. We do need someone who can provide a bit of spark and invention between the lines but he was so erratic again.

GLENN MIDDLETON - 4

Came on for Kent and tried to play his natural game unfortunately Dundee were dealing with balls into the box so easily and a bit more variance wasn’t probably required.

STEVEN GERRARD - 4

Wholesale changes from Wednesday nights performance - and no wonder - but it was probably too many. We can’t carry on doing the same things and expecting different results.
