Match Ratings - Hamilton 0 - 5 Rangers

ALLAN MCGREGOR - 7

Beaten late on by McKinnon but it was ruled out. He probably thought he should have done better with that one but otherwise he could have had the deckchair out on a surprisingly sunny day!

JAMES TAVERNIER - 8

Terrific performance again from the captain. Magnificent ball in for Defoe's second, ice cool penalty for the third and involved in the 5th for Lafferty.

JOE WORRALL - 7

Unlucky to not give away a penalty (again), but not hugely involved such was our dominance.

CONNOR GOLDSON – 7

Good performance but not hugely tested. Desperate to get a goal at the end, staying up front but couldn't get one!

ANDY HALLIDAY - 8

Halliday came in and did his case no harm again, seems to be absolutely flying at the moment. Was involved in a couple of goals and a constant threat moving forward which isn't something we're used to.

GLEN KAMARA - 8

Brilliant first half when we were dominating the ball and moving it quickly. Faded a little in the second half as Hamilton came back into it but overall a really good showing.

RYAN JACK - 9 MOTM

A tremendous performance from Jack, what a difference since Christmas. He looks to be a lot more comfortable in forward areas, is noticeably only taking one or two touches and constantly moving the ball at pace. Another goal as well and involved in a couple more.

SCOTT ARFIELD - 8

Probably scored the goal of the game with a fantastic shot from outside the area. Involved in most good play as usual, but still seems to look short of fitness. Clearly a good player but I feel there's still more to come.

DANIEL CANDEIAS – 9

Another solid showing, culminating in a classic Candeias assist. Hitting Hamilton on the break late on, brilliant low cross for Lafferty who drilled it home first time.

RYAN KENT – 8

Another who was terrific in the first half, constantly taking players on and drawing fouls. Faded in the second as the game was over as a contest, but still very dangerous.

JERMAINE DEFOE - 8

Should have scored from point blank range early doors, but more than made up for it with a peach of a diving header. Did well to occupy Hamilton's defenders but would have been so happy to see the midfield again supporting the loan striker and giving options.

STEVEN DAVIS - 4

Ideal game to come in and he got over 30 minutes which will help him out. Game was over so tough to judge, but kept things ticking over and played some decent probing passes.

KYLE LAFFERTY - 5

Had at least 3 great chances and I thought it wasn't going to be his day but then in the last minute he gets on the end of a brilliant Candeias ball over. Celebrated right in front of me and you could see how much it meant to him!

LASSANA COULIBALY - 2

On for Kamara late on, came on and shored things up well.

STEVEN GERRARD - 8

First half was near perfection for me. So pleasing to see a Rangers team playing such quick incisive possession play and being able to mix up the attacks. Crucially, we were very very clinical which always helps!
