Match Ratings - Rangers 2 - 0 Celtic

WES FODERINGHAM - 7

Could have sat up next to McGregor in the stand for all the work he had to do. One save in the entire match and it came in 84 minutes. A fairly run of the mill stop - but did well to push it away to safety.

JAMES TAVERNIER - 8

Brilliant ball in for his goal - you always run the risk of those sneaking in without a touch and thankfully it did. Showed how much he's grown as a player that he was still able to rampage up and down that flank without as much support as he usually gets in these games.

NIKO KATIC - 8

Dominated Eduoard physically and even managed to play a bit as well. This latest run in the team has set him up wonderfully to go away with Croatia U21's in the summer. A decent tournament there and he'll come back ready to go.

CONNOR GOLDSON – 7

I imagine that'll be his season over now after a 60 game marathon. One who will very much enjoy his rest and recharge over the summer.

JON FLANAGAN - 7

Full blooded performance, gave no inch at all. Wonderful tackle on Rogic summed him - and our performance up. Looked dead and buried two months ago along with a few others but you'd imagine he'll still be there next season.

STEVEN DAVIS - 9

I tweeted on the final whistle that his opening 45 minutes in this game were the best I'd seen in 15 years. Possibly a little hyperbole there on my part but it wasn't far off! He absolutely controlled every aspect of our build up, when to play fast, when to slow it down. A top class performance.

RYAN JACK - 8

Supported Tav very well, filling in at right back on more than one occasion. Snapped into tackles and got up in support of Arfield too. A real box to box performance.

GLEN KAMARA - 8

A terrific swivel of the hips to completely take Brown out of the game in the build up to our second totally typified his performance. Uses his body so well for someone so slight. Bargain of the winter window for sure.

RYAN KENT – 8

A quieter performance than usual - although still more effective than I initally thought. The fear factor he gives the Celtic defence is huge as they look completely incapable of dealing with him on either side. Lustig will be watching closely and hoping he stays down south in the summer.

SCOTT ARFIELD – 9 MOTM

A top drawer performance. A lot more controlled than he was in the December game where he seemed to be like a let off firework - in a good way! Dominated that central attacking midfield role and was given acres of space due to Celtic focusing on stopping Kent. His goal was classic Arfield, ghosting inbetween the centre halfs and a lovely rolled finish.

JERMAINE DEFOE - 8

Quieter than usual without being poor. Did well against two physical centre halfs, movement and touch as high quality as ever.

ALFREDO MORELOS - 3

Kept our subs till late on as usual, mostly for standing ovations I think! Wasn't too involved but good to see him back into the fray.

DANIEL CANDEIAS - 3

Replaced Arfield who got a rapturous applause. Filled in the same role and was his usual boundless energy, unlucky to have a foul given against him for simply being quicker than Simunovic.

ROSS McCRORIE - 2

Quieter game than the one before! On in 90 minutes to give the sponsor's man of the match Steven Davis his early bow.

STEVEN GERRARD - 9

Pretty much perfect in every way! As he said post match it was a lot more polished and controlled a performance than the raw aggression and power of December. This will have pleased him more as it was the high point of a 6 game run full of high points. A few ghosts exercised and the formation switches/certain player performances will certainly give him food for thought over the summer.
