Match Ratings - Rangers 3 - 1 Hearts

Match Ratings from a terrific game at Ibrox on Sunday. A frenetic first half gave Rangers a well deserved 3 goal lead, before a second half consolation from Hearts.

ALLAN MCGREGOR - 9

Two top saves in the first half at 1-0 which could have changed the complexion of the game. Big saves for a big player in the team. Will be raging at not getting a clean sheet after that.

JAMES TAVERNIER - 9

So intrinsic to everything we do well attacking wise, another crucial cross in for the killer third goal. Thought it was a bit overhit, but Morelos did well to bring it down and set up Arfield.

JOE WORRALL - 7

Tough task for Worrall yesterday. Ukpeazu is a unit and not exactly slow either. Got turned a couple of times, lost a few battles but overall came out of top. Perhaps slightly at fault along with one or two others for the Hearts goal.

CONNOR GOLDSON - 8

Mr Dependable, another good shift. I thought he coped well with Ukpeazu as well, although it was clear Worrall was the target for Hearts.

JON FLANAGAN  - 9

Terrific game - potentially his best since he joined. Snapped into tackles as usually, was positionally excellent and is a nice balance for Kent on that left hand side.

LASSANA COULIBALY - 8

His best game since the injury lay off. Really seems to be getting that sharpness back and the ball just seems to stick to him like glue. Will be a key player moving forward. Lovely nutmeg on Naismith.

SCOTT ARFIELD - 8

I thought he had a poor first 30 minutes, in comparison to the rest of the team! His retention of the ball was poor and passing a little slack. In saying that, he's the only midfielder who looks like he wants to get beyond Morelos and his goal is the epitome of that. Last hour he was really good.

OVIE EJARIA - 7

Quieter game, but one of those players that tends to draw opposition players to him which creates space for others, like Kent & Arfield on this occasion. Touch and passing sublime as usual, and a few step overs when the game was won.

DANIEL CANDEIAS - 9

Even better than Thursday night! Tenacious to win the ball back from Mitchell in the Hearts area to set up Morelos for the second. The finish will take all the credit, but that was a lovely ball in, played to absolute perfection. Just never stops running, playing incredibly well.

RYAN KENT - 9

Another wide man in his best form so far. He looks absolutely on top of the world, taking on 3, 4, 5 players for fun and defenders don't know what to do with him. Great to see him add a goal as well, as he deserves some end product for the performances he's been giving.

ALFREDO MORELOS - 9.5 MOTM

2 assists and 1 goal today, 1 assist and 2 goals on Thursday. Been absolutely unplayable. This is the Alfie we love. Very surprised the first goal stood, he was clearly onside but it's Scottish refereeing we're talking about! What an incredible flicked finish for his goal, full of confidence. Well on track to smash the 20 league goal barrier this year, and already have 5 assists for the season compared to 8 overall last year. Priceless in this form.

RYAN JACK - 3

Another substitution made when defending a set piece, another goal conceded. Wasn't Jack's fault, but it adds unnecessary change in that situation. He was neat and tidy on his return and will be a big player moving forward.

KYLE LAFFERTY - 3

Put himself about well when the game was won, not much else time to make an impact.

ANDY HALLIDAY - 2

Even less time on the pitch than Lafferty, but didn't do anything wrong.

STEVEN GERRARD - 9

Delighted Gerrard named an unchanged team, felt the 11 players from Thursday deserved another go to see what they can do. Hugely explosive start as he had requested, and really positive to see that the first goal was a training ground ploy.
