ALLAN MCGREGOR - 7
Had a save to make for what seems like the first time in months! Did well to spread himself - largely untroubled before and after that.
JAMES TAVERNIER - 8
The seventh time this season he's both scored & assisted in the single match. Incredible. Excellent defensively as well when Dundee started to come back into it in the second half.
JOE WORRALL - 7
Still has the odd brainfart where strikers can gain a yard on him but no damage done this evening.
CONNOR GOLDSON – 7
Great cover for Worrall during the period Dundee came into it slightly, kept his cool and playing the simple ball.
BORNA BARISIC - 7
Performance improved a bit as well, just needs to believe in himself a little more and make the dangerous run or pass. So unlucky with an excellent free kick crashing off the bar.
GLEN KAMARA - 9 MOTM
Absolutely terrific performance - his best for me so far, certainly in the first half. It is still early days but he looks so cool & composed in there. Got a little sloppy in the second half but the majority of times he lost the ball, he showed great appetite & desire to win it back straight away.
RYAN JACK - 8
Excellent again - that's three in a row now where the midfield has been terrific. Lovely ball through for Defoe's goal, really night & day in the last few weeks in terms of offensive play.
SCOTT ARFIELD - 7
Easily his best half since the Celtic game and up there with the best he's been all season. Constantly making things happen in pockets of space in and around the Dundee box. Great tenacity to feed off scraps and set up Morelos for the goal that kills the game.
DANIEL CANDEIAS – 7
Quieter without being anywhere near poor. Unlucky not to score but his constant harrying & pressing helped force mistakes which we helped to take advantage of.
RYAN KENT – 7
Flitted in and out of the game but always a threat & just makes the opposition think regardless of effort. Couple of lovely jinking runs & signs of some interchanging happening with Barisic.
ALFREDO MORELOS - 7
Got his customary goal but otherwise his shooting boots were a little mis-aligned. Another who didn't have a poor game and constantly led from the front in terms of pressing & harrying the defence. Always dangerous, lovely little nutmeg to draw the free kick which led to the first goal.
STEVEN DAVIS - 5
Another 45 minutes of football and I thought it was starting to show with an improvement fitness wise. Not sure he is suited to being Arfield's replacement as I think he would prefer to sit further back and dictate play, but we'll see how things go.
JERMAINE DEFOE - 5
Came on and played up top with Alfie when the game was done as we tried out a few tactical switches. Movement & link up play is excellent, seems to be close to match fitness now and loved his goal. So strong to hold off the defender and what a finish.
ROSS McCRORIE - 3
His substitution was intriguing because we got to see a 3-5-2 for the first time in months. McCrorie slotted in on the right side of defence at a time where Dundee were having some joy down the flanks. The 3 man defence seemed to stem that and indeed he was able to get some joy overlapping Tav offensively as well.
STEVEN GERRARD - 8
Nailed the tempo & aggression early doors again which is so vital in any game we play. Game was over as a contest after 23 minutes but he's right to demand more from the players - even if I think he was being a little but cute about it. Intrigued to see the two formation changes later on in the second half as he's obviously looking to mix things up at various points.
