Match Ratings - St Johnstone 1 - 2 Rangers

ALLAN MCGREGOR - 7

Couple of fairly straightforward stops without being hugely involved. Doing well at the sweeper keeper recently.

JAMES TAVERNIER - 8

A lot more clinical in possession than previous games. Still getting caught a little defensively due to his eagerness to get the ball forward. Terrific ball in for Morelos' winner.

JOE WORRALL - 6

He's causing panic amongst the fans any time the ball goes near him, but in reality he was just about OK. It's clear him and Goldson don't really mesh well together as a partnership, though.

CONOR GOLDSON - 7

Has to shoulder some blame for St Johnstone's goal as he either misjudged the flight or mistimed his header. Does deserve credit for a lovely pass into Middleton which got the move going for the equalising goal.

BORNA BARISIC - 4

Had to go off injured in the first half which is a huge blow. Looks like he will be out for a while.

ROSS MCCRORIE - 6

Not as much of an impact as recent games, but still tried his best to break things up and advance the play.

LASSANA COULIBALY - 5

Looked so clunky in the first half trying to be the link man between Morelos & the midfield. Couple of driving runs, one in particular he nearly forced his way through. Scott Arfield he is not.

ANDY HALLIDAY - 7

Our best midfielder on the day, snapped into tackles and always looked to try and get the ball forward.

DANIEL CANDEIAS - 6

Pretty much a similar performance to recent weeks. Neither impressive nor terrible.

ALFREDO MORELOS - 9 MOTM

Big moments call for big players. Two terrific goals, with the second being a really really special finish. Vital we keep him fit as we rely on him so much.

EROS GREZDA - 5

Not great, flashes including one smart pass in the first half but nowhere near as involved as he needed to be.

LEE WALLACE - 4

On for Barisic for only his second appearance of the season. Also has to take some blame for the opening goal as he was tucked in way too tight. Defended well but looked understandably rusty going forward.

GLENN MIDDLETON - 6

Set up Morelos' first goal and showed exactly what he can offer when we give him the type of service he needs.

KYLE LAFFERTY - 7

On for Coulibaly as we went with a 2 man attack and his introduction really transformed the game. He probably should have had at least one goal, and it was his flick on that allowed Tav to put the ball in for our second. Really impressive impact from the bench.

STEVEN GERRARD - 9

Made some bold subs which absolutely paid off. He clearly knows the deficiencies within the squad in terms of players & approach. Being able to rectify them is a totally different ball game, though.
